The struggle against poverty is a multidimensional, polysemous subject that calls for a combination of different approaches as well as the manipulation of various strategies on the ground. This is why since 1996, the non-governmental organization AUTRE VIE has resolved, alongside the government of the Republic of Benin and various development partners, to work for respect of human dignity based upon the following four elements:
- Training, Information and Communication*
- Human Rights *
- Population and Environment
- Democracy and Governance
Today, the pertinence of the proposed approaches in the domains of these different elements makes Autre Vie NGO an efficient organization that places the human being at the heart of development.
- AUTRE VIE gathers development volunteers who participate in activities benefitting women and children..
- AUTRE VIE’s vocation is to intervene at any time or in any place when or where the dignity, integrity or the physical or moral well-being of children, youth and/or women are threatened.
- AUTRE VIE refuses and rejects intolerance, working for respect of the human person.
- AUTRE VIE does not discriminate based on any factor in the execution of its activities. It does not discriminate based on race, color, sex, language, religion, political or any other opinion, origin or social status, birth, age or any other situation. That is, Autre Vie will come to the aid of any victim of natural catastrophe as well as any child or women finding her or himself in a situation of poverty, instability, discrimination or exclusion..
- AUTRE VIE recognizes its actions as completely independent of outside influence.
- AUTRE VIE collaborates as closely as possible with the beneficiaries of its activities on the ground.
- AUTRE VIE seeks and accepts any partnership or collaboration with other NGO’s or public or private institutions, both at the national and international levels that may bring about the achievement of its objectives.
